On Tour -Keeping up the pace

Our tours are designed to chalenge you. But we don't want you to over do it and not enjoy them.
Some key tips:
- Dress well. Wearing too much is better than wearing too little, you can always take clothes of, but you can't put them on if you haven't got any!
- Use a rain cape in cold weather when going down a long hill, or if you are stopped for a long period of time, so as not to get cold
- Eat. Eat a good breakfast, ideally 3hr before starting your tour. Eat during the tour, for example an energy bar and a sugary drink per hour.
- Pace yourself. Unless you want to, don't go too hard. Too hard is characterised by your breathing suddenly become a lot heavier and deeper. It can be fun to go fast at certain points, like seeing how fast you can complete a climb, but keep these efforts to one or two a day.
- The "bonk". on some of the longer tours "bonking" (becoming glycogen depleted -running out of fuel) is a risk. If you do bonk, simple stop, eat something, drink a sugary drink, wait about 15m and hit the road again but go slowly.
- Anything worse, like being caught in bad weather, a mechanical, a bug of some sort, phone our team and they will sort you out!
